Carnival Cruise Day 2
Early the next morning, we woke up and were docked at Catalina Island. We took our time and ate breakfast at the breakfast buffet.. Eating too much again.
I’ve gone on cruises before and have never had an issue with sea sickness. But good thing I followed my mom’s advice and brought some Dramamine. We had to take a tender boat from the ship to the island and, boy, was it rocky. The boat bounced up and down while people were boarding and then, it bobbed back and forth while slowly creeping our way to the island.
Immediately after we got off the tender, we went searching for available golf carts to rent. I wasn’t expecting the first place to already be sold out of carts. Luckily, though, there was another shop that was slowly running out of inventory but still had one available for us.
It took us less than 2 hours to circle Avalon and make several pit stops to take photos. Days before the trip, I was religiously tracking the weather because some rain was expected. But I was so happy to see that the sky was as blue as the ocean with a few puffy, white clouds.
After lunch, we boarded the tender boats back to the ship. The rest of the afternoon was spent lounging around on the deck.
It was “elegant night” for dinner so we feasted on fancy, schmancy plates and stuffed ourselves silly again.
We capped our evening with Carnival’s Rock show/concert and some hot chocolate and ice cream. Good thing this cruise was only 4 days.. Nightly hot chocolate and ice cream is going to kill my heart.
