Building the Great Wall of Thai – Part 1
Building a wall is hard. Literally, my blood, sweat, and tears are in this Wall. Our neighbors have most likely all heard Peter and I arguing and bickering about the construction and design of The Wall. In hindsight, it’s rather embarrassing how many times I’ve loudly cursed The Wall and told It and Peter how much “I don’t give a f*ck!”
The above photo is about half the length of The Wall. It was taken about 10 months ago and, visually, it looks like not much has changed since then. But in that 10 months, we have smoothed two layers of cement on the surface of all of the walls and painted all of the front planter boxes.
Currently, we’re working on the wood fence that will go above the concrete wall. We’re building a brand new fence and pushing it out from where it currently is to considerably expand the backyard. So far, we’ve been able to cement in the posts and Peter has been slaving away the past few days coating the rest of the wall and casting the caps.. all while I’ve been playing in Santa Barbara for a bachelorette party. It didn’t help him that it was the hottest weekend of the year.. reaching 95-100’F in Los Angeles.
I cannot wait until this Wall is done.
