Peter and I finally made it out to Arizona after saying for years that we would go. My friend, Kay, lived out there for school so we decided to road trip it out there to visit her, Red Rock State Park, and the Grand Canyon.

— Road trips bore me.. so I wrapped my head with the seat belt and pretended I was heading off to Coachella —

We hit the road early Saturday morning and arrived in Mesa early afternoon. Before met up with Kay, we made a pit stop at the famous Last Chance store, the dumping grounds for unpurchased/returned Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack goods. I love a good deal but I have little patience to sift through clothing. It was so overwhelming to see rack after rack of clothes, shoes, and accessories. Employees had to block out sections of the store when they were going to add new items and, as soon as it was open again, everyone would swarm the racks. Craziness!

That night, we had dinner with Kay at the Cornish Pasty Company in Scottsdale. She introduced us to the banoffee pie and Peter and I nearly died and went to heaven.

Road trips take a huge toll on me and the long drives make me fidgety. By the end of the day, I was exhausted and ready to sleep. The next day was going to be another long day.
