Butterbeer and the Golden Snitch
It might come as a surprise but up until today.. Peter and I had never been to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I KNOW, RIGHT?! PREPOSTEROUS!
Call me #blessed but I happen to work with a wonderful chef, baker, and business owner, Karla. She has connections with someone who works at Universal Studios Hollywood and was going to take a day trip there with her family. Lucky for me, she invited me and Peter to go with them.
Not only were we all #blessed with park admission, we were also #blessed with front-of-the-line passes. We felt like VIP, skipping the line for every single ride. It’s been years since I’ve been to Universal Studios.. The last time I visited, ET and Back to the Future were still there! Peter and I had a blast going on all of the rides (even though I chickened out and sat out on the Jurassic Park ride with the youngest member of Karla’s clan).
And oh. em. gee. you guys. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!! It was kind of funny to see the “snow” on top of the buildings on a super warm June afternoon.. But the magic was still there! People were walking around dressed in robes and wielding wands.. I really wanted to buy a robe but at $110?? No way. For days after we visited the park, I couldn’t stop telling anyone who would listen about how amazing the Forbidden Journey ride was. I had zero knowledge of the ride before going on it and I was blown away. The combination of 4D elements and physical elements was amazing! So much so that I actually had my eyes closed for a portion of the ride.. It was scary, okay?? We also enjoyed some butterbeer (YUM!) and ate dinner at the Three Broomsticks.
Now, we just need to go to the one in Florida! 😉
