Hit and Run
Today’s been a difficult day.
Work was unnecessarily stressful and I felt pressured all day long. It made me extremely irritable and every little nuisance made me roll my eyes until they almost rolled out of my head. I’m so grateful that I have at least one coworker, whose ridiculousness matches mine, keeping the both of us sane in the workplace.
Today, after a long and dreadful day, we were standing outside getting out our last frustrations. We had been standing outside talking for over 20 minutes so we finally said our goodbyes and I ran across the street to my car and jumped right in. I noticed that my left side mirror was a little off but I thought it was because I was sitting a little higher or differently in my seat. I fixed it and didn’t think anything of it.
When I got home, I checked my mirror to see if maybe someone had side-swiped my car and knocked my mirror out of whack. There weren’t any scratches though so I thought it was just my imagination.
I’m a forgetful person so I’ve formed a habit to turn back to my car right before I enter my house and lock my car again with the electronic key. Today, I turned back to my car to see that ugly black and white dent, scratch, and crack in my back bumper.
I’ve had my car almost 9 years and I’m proud (and #blessed?) to say that I’ve never put a dent or scratch on my car. Needless to say, I was devastated today.
It was like the foul, burnt icing on top of my already rotten day.
