Big Sur Day 3
Since we had gone to bed super late the night before (or really early that morning), Peter and I took our time getting up the next morning. We didn’t leave the campground until early afternoon and, sadly, said our goodbyes to Big Sur.
We headed back south, out of Big Sur, and returned to Morro Bay. I had planned to stop at Brickhouse BBQ, a highly rated restaurant on Yelp. To our surprise, Brickhouse BBQ had closed just a few days prior. Apparently, they got evicted. : (
Instead, Peter and I ate at some random Mexican taco restaurant that had free refills on horchata. I mean, CMON. FREE REFILLS ON HORCHATA. The tacos were delicious and the drinks were never-ending. I was in Mexican heaven. We ended our meal with a frozen yogurt from a little shop around the corner. We had a vanilla and Valencia orange swirl and it was DELICIOUS. It reminded me of the orange Flintstones push-pops I used to eat as a kid.
We settled at our last campsite of the trip at Montana de Oro State Park. We spent the last few hours of daylight walking around on the nearby trails and taking some photos. We hung out around Spooner’s Cove, a little beach in front of the state park.
We were still tired from the long night before so we fell asleep shortly after sunset. Our trip was officially coming to an end.
